David Ray Tullis was born March 23rd, 1942 to the late Johnny Ray and Gladys Sullivan Tullis and passed away Tuesday, February 21st, 2012 reaching the age of sixty nine years.
On February 20th, 1965 he united in marriage with his surviving spouse of forty seven years, Carolyn Keen Tullis and to this union two children survive, Anna Renee and her husband, Robin L. Foust of Peru, Indiana, Rhonda and her husband Richard Boone of Beaver Creek, Ohio. Also surviving are his two siblings, Glen and his wife Linda Tullis of Anna Coco, Louisiana and Michael and his wife Wilma Tullis of Shervier, Louisiana. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Tiffany, Kara and Travis Artrip, Jessica Meri, Matthew and Ronnie Boone and his five great grandchildren.
He was committed to being a blood donor and went from giving blood to receiving blood and platelets. He spent four years serving his country in the Navy, was a member of the NRA and supported the St. Jude children’s hospital. His hobbies included football, Nascar and enjoyed artwork. He retired after serving thirty years working for the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors.
He attended the Lockett’s Chapel Methodist Church where he worshiped with his church family. He had recently began the challenge of reading the Bible from the beginning to the end.
He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
